Grand Opening of Chartham Village Hall

Events

What a triumph!

Over 300 people joined the celebrations with music, dancing, good food and fun. It was a chance to catch up with old friends and reminisce over all the hard work and good fun that had led to the hall finally becoming a reality for the village. There was an impressive display of local arts and crafts, historical archives and photos of local interest plus a record of fundraising activities over the last 25 years.

Children enjoyed their time on the bouncy castle, having their faces painted and eating the wonderful selection of cakes provided by the W.I., while the adults celebrated with a glass of sparkling wine. Everyone was entertained by performances from the local Lindy Hop dancers, the boy band Juxtapose, Dead Horse Morris from Whistable and the Pelo Mar Samba Band.

The organizers of the event, Anne Churchill, Steve Dungay and Nina Taylor would like to thank everyone who gave their help and support before and on the day to make this such a magnificent community event.
